Host Cuttack emerged overall champions with 376 points, while Odisha Police finished runners-up with 156 points in the 59th Odisha State Athletic Meet, which concluded here at Barabati Stadium today. Cuttack athletes also emerged winners in women, boys-20, girls-20, boys-18 and 16 groups. Bhubaneswar bagged the group titles in girls-14 and 16. Group titles in men, boys-14 and girls-18 were claimed by Odisha Police, Phulbani and Sundargarh respectively.
The three-day championship produced a total of 14 new meet records. International sprinter Srabani Nanda, Latika Basra and Suresh Lakra eclipsed two new meet records each. Srabani went on to equal the State record in 200 meter sprint. Other eight new meet records were set by Rajeswari Bhoi, Rajat Mohanty, Namita Bala Singh, Ramachandra Hansda, Prabhat Tirkey, Chinmaya Ranjan Jena, Jhili Barik, Dutee Chand.
